Undersøgelse af de diskriminative egenskaber i de nociceptive og somatosensoriske nervesystemer

I denne forsøgsrække ønsker vi at undersøge, hvordan menneskets evne til at adskille f.eks. antal stimulationer på huden kan bruges til at give forbedret indsigt i hvordan vi opfatter berøringer og stimulationer.
Vi vil anvende forskellige former for stimulation af huden, som vil fremkalde forskellige følelser. En del af disse vil være smertefulde og nogle vil vare flere timer. Stimulationerne vil blive givet i særlige mønstre, som du vil blive bedt om at forsøge at genkende. I nogle af forsøgene vil vi bruge metoder til at fremkalde en længerevarende smerte for at undersøge, hvordan din evne til at genkende mønstrene påvirkes. I andre forsøg vil vi påsætte elektroder til at måle de hjernesignaler, der opstår, når du bliver stimuleret.
Du vil føle let til moderat smerte under forsøgene. Vi anser dog risikoen ved de anvendte procedurer som minimal.
Forsøgene er inddelt i 10 delforsøg og hvert delforsøg består af én eller flere af delforsøg; hver tager 2-4 timer. Du kan deltage i en eller flere af delforsøgene.
Du kan deltage, hvis du er rask og i alderen 18-60 år. Du kan ikke deltage i delforsøg 2 og 5, hvis du har allergi over for chili.
Du modtager en betaling på DKK 100 pr. time for din deltagelse i forsøget. Beløbet er skattepligtigt og vil derfor blive indrapporteret til Skat som B-indkomst. Bemærk venligst, at du skal have en gyldig arbejdstilladelse, hvis du kommer fra et såkaldt tredjeland.

Investigation of the discriminative abilities in the nociceptive and somatosensory nerve systems

In this series of experiments, we wish to investigate the human ability to distinguish different characteristics of stimulations on the skin, such as the number of stimulations given. We will use this to obtain new insights into how we perceive touches and laser stimulation.
We will apply different types of stimulation on the skin, which will evoke different sensations. Many of these sensations will be painful and a few will last several hours. The stimulations will be given in certain patterns across the skin surface, and after the stimulations, you will be asked to describe how you perceived these patterns. In some experiments, we will cause a long-lasting pain to see how this affects your ability to recognize the patterns. In other experiments, we will apply electrodes to your scalp to measure the brain signals evoked by the stimulation.
You will feel light to moderate pain during the experiments. However, the risk of the experimental procedures used is considered minimal.
The series of experiments consists of ten subprojects. You can participate in one or more of the subprojects. Each session lasts approx. 2 – 4 hours.
You can participate if you are healthy and aged 18-60. You cannot participate in subprojects 2 and 5 if you are allergic to chili.
You will receive DKK 100 per hour as compensation for your participation in the experiment. The amount is liable to tax and will therefore be reported to the Danish tax authorities as B-income. Please note that you must have a valid work permit if you come from a so-called third country.
The experiment has been approved by The North Denmark Region Committee on Health Research Ethics, project number N-20190005.
